Go with the Gary Friedman book. Well worth the $25 (or so). It’s HUGE too. I printed it in color, double sided x11 and it takes a 3-inch binder. “Gary Friedman, that also is a member here (Sony Camera Group), I’ve just downloaded the a77/a65 book and can’t wait to start reading it. The excellent series of books for Sony Alphas has been updated to include the Sony A65 & A This is available as a download at the moment.

I allready had the a book and have just added the a77 first thing I looked for was Garys book it saves so much time being able to draw on his brilliant experience.
I couldn’t stop myself from finishing it last night, I didn’t get to sleep because of it actually. Your writing style is clear, friendly, easy to dip in and out of, but most of all informative. I have bought 2 of his earlier books about the KM 7D and Sony a and downloaded this one this morning. I have just started to read your book and now I am on page Superb, a great book.
Would it be best to put the file on an external hard drive, then less risky, and if you change computers you still have it? I feel i have learned loads, and as i finished this book, i have just downloaded “25 ways to wow” for my next evening read. I have Gary Friedman’s book and it has been very helpful, lots of info gathered in one spot. Additionally, the visual illustrations of the techniques and the teaching method make it all more engaging and easy to follow. For over 20 years, starting in college and continuing well into my working life, I was just such a “Big Brother” to two fatherless boys.

Groups on the A camera. It does cover the AF capabilities but there are so many different AF settings with the A77ii that it is quite daunting. Black Swan 7 years ago. It is just great!
For me your attitude as well as the style of your narration is the greatest value I find in your guides. The e book price is similar to others paper copies. How does Friedman differ from Busch as far as his explanations, examples, etc.
Read the book with your camera in hand and every few pages you’ll have a little “Oh! I’ve already made some settings tweaks, and have some new insights to work with.
It is as if Gary is having a conversation with the reader. If you bought the first edition, as I did, you should have got an email with a link to the updated version.
Definitely don’t like his approach to pricing. This seemed like a good deal.

AVD AlphaDuctions 7 years ago. You definitely have a knack for turning techie talk stuff into understandable prose. I like the way he can explain the technical parts without oversimplifying them. And for the price it is offered at, it’s nothing short of fantastic. While I was able to glean information from them, the experience was not pleasurable as a book should be. That’s the second recommendation I’ve heard for Friedman.
The for Dummies book was the least valuable to me in terms of information provided.
