The original studentsnow Japanese shinhanwe’re taught the different ryu for the first 4 to 7years of training, I forget which exactly, they know what form is from where, how many now takamwtsuden teachers know what kata is from what ryu and which level of that said ryu?

How many of you have been taught the various Kuden sections of the different ryu ha? Simply having an instructor explain a technique in more detail isn’t really what’s meant by “kuden” although there can be kuden teachings for the kata, often of variations, or ura gata, or alternate applications, such as “hidden strikes”. And even in our organisation, my approach is a bit different A “standard” well, more common, at least, but hardly universally followed form is to start with kirigami literally “cut paper”which is basically your entrance into the Ryu, then you are awarded a Shoden Menkyo initial transmission licenceChuden Menkyo middle transmission licenceOkuden Menkyo inner transmission licenceMenkyo Kaiden licence of full transmission.
I believe that Ito Gingetsu was the teacher of Fujita Seiko. Hi Troy, I kinda hate to say it, but I don’t think that such sections are well known in the other organisations. Within the Bujinkan, you have a Shidoshi Menkyo as a teaching licence Your user takamarsuden or email address: I remember the first time I suspected something was up when I was in highschool, reading the Essence of Ninjutsu, the opening of that book is all these short stories of “Takamatsu” but with four or five different nicknames.
Yes, he is very generous. Is Togakushi a name for a person or a region? At least my soul did There are two Bujinkan Shihan that are giving some seminars about Gikan-ryu. I will gladly admit that I’m with Styygens in that I believe in the possibility that Takamatsu didn’t completely make up Togakure ryu; that there was a Togakure ryu takamatsiden that was revived by him. Hi Bpoks, thanks for the input.
Oct 11, Messages: There is a book about Takamatsu Toshitsugu where the critic review says that it have lots of statements that have no sense. Hi Chris no, it was the kuden sections of koto ryu and kukishin ryu biken. Originally Posted by Gigatron. In the genbukan, we are taught takamarsuden specific sections when we learn each menkyo level. Hi Chris, You can bbooks all about it here: Apr 10, 3. If you are, I don’t think that’s what Troy’s asking about, he’s asking about the specific kuden sections of some Ryu-ha, separate to the kuden of the waza themselves. Within the Jinenkan, the Ryu are a much higher focus, but I haven’t come across any talk with any members of much beyond what was written in the Densho that Manaka received from Hatsumi.
He seems to have this insane legacy of battles at an early age yet it’s a different name he utilized every time. Only remnants of Tanba Yasumitsu is some old family scrolls and armour. Obviously, that’s not an attack, as each will attract the students who like what each approach offers.

It does seem a pity for anyone joining the organisation later, though Now it seems to me that we have some 15 dans saying thatthe basics are important -gyokko ryu, forms etc, and explaining that these must be the foundation of your training in these arts, also that good hard training in them is needed, that to many high ranks are in need of these thingssome are even now re teaching tenchijin manual again, I never did see anyone back in old days being soft as they are today, if you don’t feel pain or get hit firmlythen how are you going to learn to move?
But they say that what they teach are nothing official but what they takakatsuden from the teachings of Hatsumi. Hi Leif, Thanks for the input.
